I had this issue. In my case I have two large monitors and the second
monitor flickered whenever the screen was updated (windows move etc.).
I solved it by going into the nVidia setup program and setting the
resolution and refresh speed manually. The driver seems to autodetect
the speed to a leve
I'm seeing this on Karmic 32 bit.
Resolution is 1680x1050. I'm using the DVI output.
