On my system the highlighted is also part of the screenshot, everything
screenshot region that i take as a blue tint (very annoying).
I found a workaround by using `mate-screenshot` provided by `sudo apt-
get install mate-utils`.

Sound was working fine in my MabBook5,2 with 9.04 now I can't configure
the headphones output jack. I'm able to hear the internal speakers but I
can't use the external ones.
When I run alsamixer I don't see the options to toggle the headphones
output jack.

configuration file than in the init.d script.

What's strange for me is that changing: Menu > System > Preference >
Mouse > Touchpad > "Disable touchpad while typing" has no effect on the
USB mouse. It does affect the touchpad but the mouse is always disabled
after each keystroke.
This is very annoying and drives me nuts.

I have the same problem with an Nvidia GeForce 6200 where I have
activated the second screen (VGA). I also notices that the main screen
has the window decorations while the second screen doesn't.
With this setup, the menus are so slow that they are unusable. This is

Try disabling Xinerama in your configuration file. I had a similar
problem and it turned out that Xinerama was causing the RANDR extension
to be missing even though the Xorg logs reported that the extension was
loaded.
I still have to figure out a way to have both Xinerama and RANDR
working.

Here's a slight modification to the script provided by Michael Wood.
This new version launches gnome-terminal through exec, this way the
process of the shell script gets replaced by the process of gnome-
terminal instead of laying around in the system process table waiting
for gnome-terminal to end
