I found a workaround for evolution not starting due to samba3 / samba4 incompatible smb.conf: Simply start evolution as follows: SMB_CONF_PATH=/etc/samba/smb4.conf evolution & Then you may at your discretion supply a clean smb4.conf, or you simply leave it out. Works for me. -- evolution 2.25.
