I am experiencing the same issue. I am attaching a screenshot to show
this symptom. My setup is: 1280x800 (left) and 1680x1050 (right). The
hardware I am running on is Lenovo x200 tablet (left) and Dell 2209wa
(right). The system is fully updated. I believe this might be a
regression.

I am on a Lenovo X200 Tablet. I see the exact symptoms as mycl[1]
described in Comment #11. I have an external monitor - Dell 2209wa.
Heres an important clue. This might be a regression as the stock install
of natty worked fine. But after I applied the latest updates, I started
seeing this issue.
Happens to me too on a Dell Studio 1555 in Ubuntu-Classic and 11.04
