Sebastien,
Instead of seeing this issue for what it is, a very clear and obvious
bug (and one, I'd point out, that 36 people and counting went out of
their way to find on the internet in an effort to fix it on their
machines), you continue to push this as something that, if experienced,

I'll echo the sentiments of jsevi83. Using a single workspace seems to
be the norm for almost every Ubuntu user with multiple monitors that
I've met. Such users are also the ones most affected by a bug that
doesn't let you easily pick out multiple windows open across more than
one screen.

Pithikos,
Did you try the solution posted by sordna? I have a very similar camera
and installation to you and it works flawlessly now.
PS: With the daemon.conf solution, if the audio device doesn't appear at
start up, unplug and replug the webcam and it will show up.

Just writing to confirm that sordna's workaround works. For anyone
looking to apply it:
- $ sudo nano /etc/default/grub
- Find the line that begins with GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and append
usbcore.autosuspend=-1 to tell the system to never autosuspend USB devices.

I had the same error earlier today and have since reverted back to
Empathy. Before I uninstalled Pidgin, though, I started an issue report
on the pidgin-facebookchat site and the plugin's developer has asked for
a debug log to look at what's going on, so if any of you would like to
follow this up d
This problem persists for me using OpenOffice.org Impress(3.2) under

the scale width for every subscript to 150%.

That's not a fix as much as a workaround. We know that you can manually
unmount a CD and then push the eject button, but a user from another
operating system used to the intended functionality of their "Eject my
CD" button might not. Rather than just triggering an eject event, this
button should un
As an update, I realized that since I've only ever run Ubuntu on this
machine, there was no region set for the drive (it doesn't come set from
the factory). Upon running regionset, I was able to get DVD playback
working on this great little machine, though I read that the DMA issue

Public bug reported:
More of an inconvenience than critical error, but the eject button on
the Dell XPS M1330 (capacitance touch-button) doesn't work within Gutsy.
Only ejecting the disk through Nautilus sends the disk out of its slot-
loading drive. This appears to be Ubuntu-based as the button D
I understand, but I at least want it to be fixed in Hardy :). Any idea
why this wasn't an issue for me before (my last laptop had a SATA hard

Public bug reported:
Running Gutsy, I have transitioned to a Dell XPS M1330. Installing VLC,
ubuntu-restricted-extras, and libdvdcss2, DVDs do not playback as they
did on my previous laptop. A quick web search reveals that there is some
sort of DMA problem with the XPS M1330. Running hdparm return
