stopped blanking the screen (only the screensaver was activated, but the LCD
remained on).

Using the rtl8180 driver with my realtek card (with Philips radio):

turns out that my resume now presents corrupt graphics! It was working
perfectly in Hardy, after some debugging turns out that the key factor
is the kernel.
Up to date xorg, intel xorg driver and 2.6.26-4.11 = FAIL

I think I found the culprit: computertemp applet. It's polling acpi for
temperature too often.
I'm keeping an eye open though, I want to be totally sure so I'll try a few
normal boot reboots during these days.
