Yes. It make Evolution not usable on 1024*768 4/3 screen. And after
having the problem, even to go back to email functionality does not
return : after being thresholded, no way to click on anything. So in
such a case, we're forced to use an other email client (thunderbird...).
Very old problem that
I get the same impresson : it seems that it is a permission wrong
propagation problem.

initctl status gdm gives : gdm stop/waiting . I've also attached the
file /etc/init/gdm.conf
very rarely the computer init is ok, most of the time it ends on command
line mode asking login and password, then back to command line (startx
needed, and then again password to unlock when in gnome). I s

on a new computer (one hdd partition for /, one other hdd partition for
/home), and after a general update from repositories, I've got troubles

Yes. Now it is solved, it was due to misinstallation of gstreamer
plugins. Can be closed.

Also impossible to upgrade or uninstall sivp 0.4.3-4, and it seems that
this is creating big troubles to sophisticated visual effects (can't
success to switch from "None" to "Normal" or "Extra", if we try try it
switch back violently to "None" with an error popup window, it seems
