But interestingly, the WiFi connection doesn't work after waking from the
sleep mode (only the wired Ethernet connection).
This mode is called "Hibernate" in my system.

As promised, I report on the situation after 24hrs running the system
(3.5.0-59-generic) - the "Edit connections" menu item of the Network
Manager is still insensitive.
