The problem started when i tried to install UBUNTU 11.10 Desktop Edition 64. My
PC already worked with a Windows 7 64 and i knew that after installation i can
choose either Win or Ubuntu to boot.

cannot upgrade to 11 from asus eeePC

during the upgrade process I get an error that says it can't calculate
the software channels. Possible reasons are that this is a pre-release
version of the software, but I'm only upgrading the to the version
recommended by the software manager.

Actually, I found a solution here:

Perhaps that fix can be used to make a more permanent fix to include it
directly on the Ubuntu's repo.

BTW I never had any problems mounting my phone as a usb-device in
previous versions of ubuntu, so it's definitely something that came with
8.10.
