I installed Mythbuntu 11.10 and installed kaffeine with: sudo apt-get install kaffeine I got this same error. I then did: sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg After stopping and restarting the program, it worked fine. I guess what needs to happen to resolve this is to include libxine1-ffmpeg
