There is no microcode release for any 6050 series cards yet. The 6050
series includes any card model matching 6x5x, most notably the 6250
offered for the ThinkPad T510. Until the microcode is released, the
kernel updates to support the card are useless.

Because suspending to disk (hibernating) works fine, users of T410 and
T510 models may want to use the power control panel to have the sleep
key press, lid closing event, and possibly other events map to
hibernation. This will at least avoid data loss from closing the lid (or
doing something else)
@Tom I'm not sure why you're mentioning 2.6.27. That's quite an old
kernel; see the date of the post you linked.
I've confirmed this issue in 2.6.32.9 and 2.6.33, installed to Ubuntu
9.10 from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline.
