Slight misinformation, sorry. The initial issue with the "Power
management discrepancy" message was resolved after bringing in an
updated kernel. I was still unable to login (and the behaviour appeared
similar) but in this case I was unable to login due to ~/.Xauthority
being owned by root. chown d
Still unable to log in after trying with daily/2013-05-12-precise,
v3.10-rc1-precise, v3.3.6-precise, v3.4-precise and 3.9-rc8-raring
Same issue in each case (as with 3.2.0-41) attempting to log in to the desktop
shows a black screen then returns to the login screen.
