has nothing to do with this regression in sudo. Relevant bug for that
issue is #86843. The solution is to use gksu-polkit, a successor to

The driver R5U870 is being replaced by a set of R5U87x userland tools
that load the firmware for the uvcvideo supported webcams and make those
work with the standard driver.
At this moment the WDM webcameras are only supported by the previous
R5U870 module.

initiated, and as soon as the resulting patches don't introduce any
regression, I will definitely include them in the packages so that you
