On my Lenovo T400 (7417CTO) I had requested Kubuntu go to sleep from the
menu you get when you click on the power icon in the bottom right
(default Kubuntu 9.04 Beta/updates install). The screen blanked, but the

This occured on a fresh installation of Ubuntu 6.06.1 server for me too.
No fancy setup during install, just let it format a disk, partition the
disk, and go.
