I have a clean 8.10 install with nvidia Proprietary drivers version 96 installed using System>Admin>HardwareDrivers. My card is an nvidia GeForce4 MX440. I have the same problem as TitoN and others in Opera 9.27 (added by Synaptic.) Specifically, it won't draw text for the menus of the Title Bar

Martin, I assume your request for f/b is a general one and not just to me..but nevertheless... I just did an update and see nvidia as a proprietary hardware driver in System>Admin>Hardware Drivers. It activates fine but still get the problem as stated above. So driver still not working for me.
