I have found a workaround (Because Ubuntu12.04 still doesn't have the fix
commited for now) .
You must use the keyboard and the mouse.
I you want to maximize on left screen:
1. Drag your window in the left monitor, with your mouse (normal size)
2. CTRL + SUPER + left arrow
3. CTRL + SUPER + up ar
This problem is indeed present in Quantal, it appears to only affect
people using a dual head setup when one screen is smaller than the
other.
This effect is most annoying when working with many open pdf documents,
moving them from large to small with snap fails so I have to use the
compiz move wi

Count me in, I have the same setup as OP.
I have another problem but its difficult to describe, I'll give it my
best shot. Sometimes when Ive minimized a window, say firefox or
rhythmbox and I go to open its drawn on the wrong screen, clicking on it
does nothing and it clicks the thing underneath.
This bug still exists in 12.04 Evince 3.4.0 , like #4 suggested it is
only certain files, the file I have problems with was created by TeX
with beamer plugin.
I will attach it but only if needed.

precise Lubuntu up to date on old dell inspiron has this issue. Seems to
be related to power management, wifi will associate on battery -- but
will have no connection, pinging router results in 100% packet loss.

I reproduce this with todays i386 daily build of Precise. Just try using
the trash can and it provides confirmation on the wrong screen.
Steps to reproduce:
Install Precise daily,
Delete something,
--> Confirmation appears on wrong screen (else try deleting something from the
other screen)

I also aggree with frederik.nnaji, this is certainly a bug - there's no
good reason why it shouldnt be highlighted and very good reasons why it
shoud be.
Hitting return and nothing happening is the expected behaviour if
nothing is highlighted, when the thing is highlighted by clicking down
and hit
Temporary fix: in /etc/grub.d/00_header line 242 change the timeout from
-1 to any positive integer for a quick workaround.

Like others who have commented, I am also affected by this bug, to save
juice I use rtcwake and have been careful to remove recordfail
altogether, however when I left my computer this Christmas something had
reverted and after two hibernates it was back to sitting on the GRUB
screen 200 kilometers
I still have this problem in maverick, it is reproducible how can I
obtain the information needed for debugging?
