On a fresh ubuntu 8.04 server 64 install the nis package and voila.
Upon further googleing I figured out that the problem lies with YPBIND and if I
remember correctly and it was a known issue.

I installed it and it failed starting even with the untouched configuration.
I get:

* binding to YP server...
* ..
a dirty fixup for this (fighting effect rather than cause) is to use
fusion-icon.
Add that to your gnome session and you get as a bonus a cute looking icon.

Suspend to RAM or disk with gutsy is broken on my sony SZ420.
Tried with both the integrated intel card and the nvidia 7400, both with and
without compiz.
Please tell me what is the the pertinent information i should be
including to help diagnose bug

Neither suspend to RAM nor to disk work. They both turn off the screen but
