Don't expect to get help from the developers here. They don't want to
fix this bug... instead they're posting hundreds of workarounds.
The best one which worked for me ist:
1. go to newtwork setting
2. select your network connection (Standard is "Auto eth0")
3. click "edit"
4. Switch

When i try to do a "save as" action in any gnome-controlled application
on ubuntu karmic, it will try to rename the first file in the folder. So
i can't create a folder in this view. I attached a screenshot.
