I am on amd64, one more thing, maybe this is related to the fact that
the radeon X11 driver screwed the display in correlation with the
enabled framebuffer (had to strip all driver related options from
xorg.conf to get a working display with the previous kernel).

radeonfb worked for me out of the box without configuring anything after
upgrade to kubuntu 10.4 – that was with kernel-2.6.32-21.
After update to kernel package 2.6.32-22 radeonfb disappeared from kern.log
while booting.
I am able to get it working again when booting the previous kernel without
I have had the problem on my upgraded from Intrepid Jaunty installation.
It seems to be that gnome-keyring has a problem while reading my private
key in dos format (CR/LF). After converting it to unix format it works
like a charm.
I've used dos2unix (tofrodos package) to do the job.

I can confirm some same behaviour with an USB Mass Storage device, since
Feisty but now on Gutsy Tribe 5 too, though its an High-Speed device and
handled by ehci_hcd.
