If i have, e.g. gnome-terminal open in fullscreen on workspace 2, and I
am at the moment on workspace 1, notify-osd won't "send" the
notification to the screen. This behavior makes sense if the active
workspace is the one where the fullscreen-a

one of the latest updates, though.

I'm currently running Karmic Alpha 5 on my laptop, and the soundcard now
seems to be fully supported. The only thing I've noticed is, that as
default, sound was muted, and I couldn't just un-mute it - I had to go
to the soundsettings and un-mute it from there.

not neccessarily - like in pidgin, when pressing the close butten, it
disappears to the indicator-applet sub-icon. If you press the icon, it
reappears. If you want to close pidgin, you press ctrl+q or go to the menubar
and do it from there.

I thought I would start use Skype, just to try it out, talk with some friends

I jaunty, config files has to has a .conf at the end, and the alsa-base
file has therefore been renamed, so the fix is now the following:
* Add "options snd-hda-i

When I create a custom shortcut(i.e. through System -> Preferences ->
Keyboard Shortcuts) their opening path is /, but should be ~/.
For example, if I make a shortcut to gedit, when I want to save a file,
the default it shows is /, b
I tried to compile the kernel with the driver, and it worked.
I'm not sure what part of what I did made it work, but here's the steps
I took:
aptitude purge rt2860-source
aptitude install rt2860-source
m-a prepare
m-a a-i rt2860-source ( I also tried with "m-a a-i rt2860" but neither worked

I just wanted to let you guys know, that the linux-generic update I got today
broke the Stéphane Graber driver that I have been using for a long time know,
so unfortunately I'm without wifi yet again.
Tried to reinstall it, and it is shown as an active driver in Hardware Drivers,
but neither iwc
