I logged the solution of kernel 2.6.35-020635-generic having worked for me
earlier.
I tried this "blacklisting" trick on kernel 2.6.38-10-generic (last
update) and it worked only if you had NOTHING MORE than maybe a
'terminal' session active when you try to 'hibernate' (any more -

My problem turned out to be that I had disabled console frame buffer
using echo 0 > /sys/class/vtconsole/vtcon1/bind previously, which of
course in turn caused problems for my intel KMS module.

I have the same problem, same exact motherboard. However, disabling KMS
prevents my Xserver from working as I upgraded the intel Xserver driver
and it expects a KMS kernel driver.
