is displayed.
This is very annoying.
A screenshot is attached to this bug report show a "warning icon" text

I get exactly the same behaviour than comment #5 with *any* PDF.
This is *very* annoying since it pollute my terminal a lot which prevent

As for upgrading today unfortunately utopic unicorn (14.10) seems not
distribute 24.3+1-4ubuntu2 but 24.3+1-4ubuntu1, for which this bug is
still present.

Nothing changes with any of the boot parameters you asked me to try,
separately.
I tried thoses parameters only with the current stable ubuntu kernel
(3.11.0-15-generic). I also tried, separately, to set i915.modeset=1
with no more luck.
The current boot parameters are these one :

No working backlight with daily-live ISO image downloaded yesterday :-(

Nothing new with kernels in 13.10. Last kernel which is able to control
backlight (after a suspend/resume cycle only) is 3.8.0-22.
Something strange is that I filed bug #1240005, which has been
confirmed, and which is able to fade the screen, with any kernels I
tried.

nvidia binary proprietary drivers.
My opinion is that medium importance is too low. Not being able to use a

I have stepped through all available kernel from -19 to -24.
The last with which I am able to have backlight control working is the
-22 (in fact almost working : after booting backlight does not work, but
then if I suspend/resume the machine backlight control is working
again).

The bug is easy to reproduce (at least under MacBookPro3,1) :
1. boot and log in
2. connect to wifi (I use WPA2)
3. suspend
4. resume
5. now you are no more able to reconnect to wifi. It renders Ubuntu completely
useless :-(

xserver-xorg-video-intel (2:2.1.1-0ubuntu-9) available on Gutsy CD-ROM.
