Easily repeatable. Just plot a parametric function, and then try to do
another. It crashes as soon as I press new-->parametric function.

I think that's by design. On my system, if I run texhash as root, then
it updates everything but my ~/texmf directory. If I run texhash as
USER, then it updates /home/USER/texmf. That way each user can update
their own home texmf directory as they need.

Thanks. I didn't understand that to be the case. I knew that they
synced new versions of packages already in Ubuntu, but I thought they
kind of picked the ones they wanted from debian. Thanks for the info.

The problem no longer occurs. I don't know why it did before. I have
changed a few things, but I'm not sure what fixed it. Maybe the bug
should just be removed, since I posted it and I can't reproduce it.
Then again, maybe there is a quirk somewhere that makes it happen. I
don't know.

Right, but texlive-humanities contains some of the files that had been
in texlive-extra. So if anyone is trying to do an upgrade from
texlive-2005 then it could very well break things. I had one particular
file that compiled fine with texlive 2005, but failed to compile with
2007 until i added te
I had to manually install texlive-humanities. I had upgraded from
texlive 2005. I know this bug is about tetex, but it seems related
anyhow. It appears that texlive-humanities-2005 doesn't exist but
texlive-humanities-2007 does.

My synaptics touchpad worked great in Feisty. I don't like the default
behavior so I use ksynaptics to manage the touchpad. In gutsy, with ksynaptics
0.3.3-2ubuntu1, xorg 1:7.2-3ubuntu3, and xorg-driver-fglrx

OK. That's just weird. I had the same problem, changed my timezone to
Berlin, and the update worked just fine. The update is in process, if
it finishes I'll try to change my timezone back. For the record, my
timezone was Indianapolis.
