Hi, I have run into this as well. whois does not recommend the whois
package when it is not installed.

I would also like to add that because of winbindd locking up, I cannot
use su(do) and therefore cannot kill or restart the winbindd daemon (my
tty's don't work, so I can't go through a tty). I have to restart my
computer in order to get everything working again, which lasts maybe
10-15 minutes unti

After the winbind updates this weekend/this morning, winbind will lock
up and start using 60%-100% of the CPU. It actually for some reason has
two instances of winbindd running, each using between 60% and 100% of
the CPU (two cores).

This is happening on 2.6.19, 2.6.18, and 2.6.17 AFAICT (haven't tried
2.6.16, but I can't see it doing anything differently). This is really
weird since it just started.

If I full-screen GNOME terminal in a workspace, then change to a work
space and open, say, Firefox, when I move back to the previous workspace
with the full-screen GNOME terminal, it is still full-screen, but the
panels are showing on top and botto
The ubiquity GUI might actually be 800, but this doesn't take into
effect the GNOME panels being both above and below, causing the GUI to
be too large. It should be a simple fix as long as the widgets aren't
static.
