Memory Stick worked fine on my Vaio VGN-N230N running 7.10.
But after the upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04, the memory stick isn't working anymore.
Snippets from /var/log/syslog
- Before the upgrade:

Ok, thank you.

I have "glipper" running on my desktop (started on gnome sessions). Well, I
just happen to have stopped glipper, and now copy&paste seems to be working
fine...
I started it again manually, and copy&paste is still working.
I hope that helps.

Copy&Paste does not work

As I said, it pastes something (the last *text* copied), not the last
object. I'm sure it doesn't paste the copied object on top of the
original.

Some additional info:
I perceived that, when a copy&paste very fast (I mean, pressing Ctrl-C
and Ctrl-V very, very fast) it works. But when I press Ctrl-C and only
press Ctrl-V after some time, it doesn't.

I'll change that line. But, isn't it commented out? I didn't pay
attention to that line because it starts with a '#'.
But, thanks much for the attention.

On a Sony Vaio VGN-N230N, Fn-F2 (mute), Fn-F3 and Fn-F4 (sound volume
up/down) keys are working, but not the others (Fn-F5/Fn-F6 brightness
up/down, Fn-F7 LCD/monitor switch, Fn-F12 suspend).
dmesg reports some errors, though:
[ 210.46] sonypi command failed at drivers/char/sonypi.c : sonypi
Well, when I first installed this machine, it didn't boot and I had to
fix the "menu.lst" manually. As I recall it, the situation was similar
but, I didn't report a bug at the time. This is the first kernel upgrade
since then, though.
