I concur about this bug. It seems it plagues both seahorse plugin for gedit and
the clipboard applet for gnome-panel.
Whether the passphrase is in the cache or not, the user is asked to type it

Yes, aptitude doesn't segfault anymore in this case, so I guess the bug
is gone. As for apt, I don't think it's worth it since there is the
aptitude "forbid version" package option which gives more easily the
same functionality.

I am now using intrepid.
Using for example a test preferences file like this:
Package: alien
Pin: release v=8.10
Pin-Priority: -1
the command "sudo aptitude install alien" worked without crashing. I
tried different combination of preferences and packages. It never
crashed. When using a priority of

This problem is still present. When using gnome-mount, it works
everytime (mounting/unmounting/mounting...). But when using nautilus, it
sometimes can't be remounted whether with nautilus or gnome-mount after
first unmounting. When this occurs, the label of the encrypted disc

Sorry, I didn't see it. Today's update from gutsy-proposed effectively
solved that problem. Thanks.

I have the same problem and message with my computer.
It seems that module ata-piix fails to setup the IDE chipset though it worked

Using a break=mount option on startup, I can see that the /dev/sda* files are
absent, while ata-piix is listed in /proc/modul

I'm afraid it is not documented in --help either.

I'm not so sure it is a bug from nautilus.
I found that this problem is linked to the gvim.desktop file in
/usr/share/applications which contains a line "Exec=gvim -f %U"
so when opening a file named éléphant.txt with nautilus, the command line used
is
gvim -f file:///home/bertrand/%C3%A9l%C3%A9
