I tried doing some googling to figure out a way to trouble shoot this
bug. I'd like to figure out where the problem is..i.e. X, the kernel,
or something else. This bug is very annoying and in my case prevents me
from running virtual machines.
Anyone have any ideas of how we can go about trouble

I can echo most of the experiences that others are voicing above. I'm
using the x64 version of Intrepid, I run two NVidia cards with 4
monitors and xinerama enabled. X will randomly stop responding to the
mouse though the cursor still moves. THis happens with the mouse
connected with both PS/2 a
I'm not running 8.10 alpha yet and I don't have the same setup using
LDAP for usernames so I can't test.

I saw on the VMWare forums the suggestion to add a copy of the user in
LDAP to my /etc/passwd. I tried that and vmplayer starts, but I don't
want to use that fix.
