Owais Lone, did you specify the server? It is "talk.google.com". Port
number is either 5222 or 5223, try both. Also, make sure SSL/TLS is
enabled.

The GNOME desktop runs with user privileges, not root. The error
messages in Craig's experiment were not because there's another panel
already running (I guess this is why xe said it was expected), but
because there's no running GNOME session for the root, and hence the
panel application can't conn
My guess is that something delays DBus initialization (something related
to the Live CD), and it's not ready to talk to gdu-notification-daemon
when it wants to. The error message in gdu_pool_new() (gdu-pool.c) is
the first warning that something will not be OK (you can see this in the
attached .xs
This issue needs attention. I've used Ubuntu Live CDs since 6.10, and
this is the first time it boots into an error. For me, it won't stop me
from using Ubuntu, but others might be more picky. I'll look into this,
but I'm not an experienced developer. I'll post here if I find anything
that may be u
