I can confirm this behaviour on a T60 and can without a doubt say it's
due to the iwl3945 driver. Bug 275227 is similar. The workaround for me
as been to blacklist iwl3945 for a successful boot then modprobe it.

Timestamps are not preserved when copying files/directories via
Nautilus. Reproducible by mounting an ext3 partition and copying to
local home directory. This behavior worked as expected in 7.10 by
