1. My Monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster 400b and my actual resolution is
1024*768
2. $ cat /etc/usplash.conf

I dont know why you say this has nothing to do with shutting down...
When the bar of the usplah is empty, it should be shutting down, then i
press Ctrl+Alt+F1 for see whats happen and shows me i wrote above

I have a monitor samsung syncmaster 400b, and i want to install ubuntu
7.10, but after loading the screen to run the live CD, the monitor turns
off and get a message that the frequency is out of sign, even in the
safe mode.
The cd runs pertectly, because i hear the drum sound
