I'd like to add that this problem also affects Debian (Jessie) 32bit.
There were quite some kernel updates over the time without improvement.
And that it worked with the same web came before.
Also that it behaves a little different here than described by others:

Confirming bash completion stopped working for vim in Natty.
It seems the /etc/bash_completion is identical to one from Debian, where
it works. There is nothing under /etc/bash_completion.d/ which has "vim"
in it.
Thanks for your script Amr, but I hope there is a fix for Natty itself
soon.

A patched package (complied against ALSA) should IMO be released by the
maintainers for the repositories. Otherwise the existing sidplay2 is
"broken" (isn't working with Ubuntu's default setup) and thus should be
removed.
I prefer the release. :-)
