Binary package hint: xfce4-xkb-plugin
Hi,
I use two computers and switch between them using a KVM switch. When
switching to the box running xfce4-xkb-plugin, the plugin exits the
first time I try to change layouts.
I'm attaching an strace log; I started stracing before swit

Maybe no one was looking at

FWIW, this appears to be the same problem (at least it produces the same
symptoms) as http://madwifi-project.org/ticket/1773 and
http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10605 (the latter is
supposedly fixed though).
I added new pertinent information to

This is just to let you know that the problem is still present in
2.6.31-3-generic, even when using a bitrate of 1Mbps.
My connection wasn't entirely stable with madwifi either, but the error
messages were different (unfortunately, I no longer have them, but I can
certainly try madwifi once more i

FWIW, I think the configuration pertaining to new windows should include
the following options:

For completeness, "focus but don't raise" could be included, but I don't
think it makes sense.

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic
Hi,
I just upgraded a desktop box to intrepid.
Suspending used to work flawlessly before (at least with
2.6.24-12-generic). Indeed it still works if I just boot the same
system, but the old kernel.

There is indeed a discussion of this problem in the #vserver irclogs
available from http://irc.13thfloor.at/LOG/2006-11/LOG_2006-11-29.txt as
fmyhr pointed out.
The issue appears to arise from an incompatibility between stack-
protector and dietlibc, as far as I can tell.
Look at the part where

I opened the launchpad bug first, and then thought that this doesn't
only affect Ubuntu users, so why not report it upstream as well... But
you're right, I'll try to avoid such duplicates in the future.

For what it's worth, binary packages from Debian work fine.
Just rebuilding the source on Ubuntu results in a broken package.
And yes, it is due to the stack-protector issue, we checked using gdb:
