I've solved the problem creating a __init__.py fake file only with
#!/usr/bin/python line .
Now, all the update works without problems.

Hi, now I've got Ubuntu 6.10 with Gnome 2.16.1 and KDE 3.5.3 , and still having
the same problem.
The problem begins when I see a dialog in Gnome telling me that the
configuration of the Keyboard (with Gnome) doesn't match with the Xkb settings;
and I have to choose to continue with Gnome keyb
