If it helps, I noticed that the problem only occurs when using the
detailed view, in grid view there is no slowdown.

I forgot to mention that I use a Crucial T700 2TB PCIe Gen5 NVMe, well,
it performs at close to 12Gbps bandwidth, so I don't think it's a
hardware bottleneck.
I also tested it on different file system types, ext4 and brtfs, and got
the same behavior!

I noticed that when I enter a folder that has a lot of files, in my case
not that many, when I enter a folder with a little over 200 items, and
about 7 subfolders, it takes 4 seconds. This is not normal.
