Some additional information: I installed the xserver-xorg-video- vesa-1.3.0 source package. When I applied the patch 100-fedora- vesa-1.3.0-mode-heuristics.patch the Xorg exited with a segmentation fault (same backtrack). Without the patch the Xorg started in 1024x768.
