ubuntu mate 15.04 here
install feesed, uninstalled and installed via terminal , and it seemed to work
but steam wont start anyway

A workaround that works for me is dragging some icon from the desktop to the
launcher and back again. After that it hides correctly (until some qt or java
program makes it stick again).
