Never mind. I executed:
sudo killall soffice.bin
and then apt-get was able to finish installation. Thank you.

I can not install openoffice.org-pdfimport, since I get the same error.
Now I cannot uninstall it either, so I get this message everytime I
install new software. How do I get rid of this pdfimport package
