4.4.0-73 boots and logs in with no freeze in Xenial. I'm missing other components (video drivers, wifi), but there is no freeze. I am not sure whether this is because of the rough-and-tumble nature of the -proposed packages or due to missteps in installation on my part, but that specific bug does
