the same time, if i work with only one, i cannot feel the problem as
badly. so for now i stick to using only one ...

i have the same problem , but for me it appeared only since i upgraded
to 9.04 . i have vmware player running from a ext4 partition running on
a encrypted partition (the same behavior is true also with vmware
server). When a lot of disk activity starts , the cpu goes into 100 %
usage , with about 9
i found out that by disabling xinerama i dont have the leak anymore.

i found out that it is related to the fact that i have guarddog
installed and i have setup a very restrictive firewall. After executing
"iptables -F ; iptables -P INPUT ACCEPT" , gaim started correctly
(without segmentation fault) but without beeing able to connect to the
IM Networks. Of course tha

i had the same problem , i fixed it like this:
1) edit /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup
search for "stop)" and comment out the next 6 lines after it (the two if/fi
blocks)
2) dpkg -P --force-all hotkey-setup
3) apt-get install hotkey-setup
