Well I don't think the key point is to be up to the very date, like a
rolling release, but update if the newer version is considerably stable
and well only add, not cause unstable behaviour.
For example, Libre office right now has two versions on their site: 3.3.4 and
3.4.3

The current version in oneiric is 2.11.4, where the 11 represents the
year it was released and 4 represents the month released.
It seems the team is going for a monthly release, thus 2.11.5 has been
released and 2.11.6 will be release fairly soon. Though it's not a big
