Was able to fix this by purging compiz and unity and reinstalling both.
I then had to manually enable the unity plugin in ccsm.
I have no Idea why this happened but now everything works.

I have another very reproducible libreoffice bug which does not trigger
apport. The Unity-top-panel goes to 120-140% CPU and becomes unusable
as soon as I open libreoffice writer and try to write some text.

I have an Ubuntu 12.04 server set up which holds my videos in a samba
share.
On my desktop (12.10) I have mounted that share to /home/user/Videos
Using the video lens will eventually lead to the server losing it's
network connection.
I will gladly due tests and submit logs
I wrote to Alberto Milone today because this issue seriously affects my
workflow and nouveau just does not suffice for my new Humble Bundle 5
(it's great btw).

Today it completely crashed my PC.
1. I was surfing the web.
2. I crashed to the login screen
3. Login was impossible as my keyboard did not work (mouse did)

When I dismiss a calendar event I get pop-up windows asking for my password.
One window for each calendar.
These come up one after the other every time I enter my password and hit "ok".
The e-calendar-factory shows to be at 400% CPU but my system runs fine.

After logging in I could no longer start programs from the application lens.
Searching worked.

I have this bug on 12.04 as well.
It has appeared when the GTK version was swapped vor the QT Version.
Starting from the dash works fine. Perhaps the messaging menu is trying
to open the gtk version?

Restarting Firefox does not fix the problem. I have to log out and back
in to my desktop session or restart my PC to get sound back.

to "reset to defaults" in compiz config manager.
