Reboot with kernel parameter video.use_bios_initial_backlight=0 doesn't allow to change the brightness either, OSD indicator appears but no change in brightness occur. Let me know if there's anything else I could provide to make this work, the LCD brightness on this laptop is burning my retinas =(
