Actually i was trying to reproduce it but couldn't too :-), a new byobu
installation looks just fine with ip address shown correct.
If i came across it again i will try to check the version too

Hi,
The IP address shown by default when byobu starts up if it's within an
OpenVZ node is 127.0.0.1, showing the REAL ip address on the bridge (by
default) would be great instead of configuring it by the user.
