I can see that in the snapcraft.yaml file for the Chromium snap there is
a hardcoded list of library files which are copied during installation.
This list excludes several files which are present in both the Google
Chrome and the .deb Chromium install directories (e.g. libvulkan.so.1,
libvk_swiftsh
The snap version of Chromium has now been updated to 98.0.4758.80. In
this version, both --use-gl=swiftshader-webgl and --use-gl=swiftshader
allow WebGL to work in headless mode.

I've encountered this or a similar bug in Ubuntu 18.04 on a Dell XPS 13
with a touchscreen. I observed that the touchpad seemed to be stuck in

16.10. I get the correct compose sequence in Qt apps, but not in GTK

Interesting. I have always had apt-add-repository hang on fetching keys
from the default server, and I wonder if that's related. It works if I
use a different server. I think I've also had problems with
easy_install and pip in the past.
I will test the proxy chain workaround, and I eagerly await

I can't seem to attach two attachments to one report, so here's my
minimal urllib example. As an aside, setting the proxies from the
environment explicitly seems to be completely unnecessary, since urllib
should do that by default unless proxies are explicitly turned off.

I have solved my problem by editing the download script to use wget in a
subprocess instead of urllib.urlretrieve. It's a bit of a hack, and
maybe it's not a viable long-term solution, but now everything works
perfectly for me. I was able to install both flash and the MS core
fonts. I'm attaching
For the record, I don't get a "connection timed out" or any other kind
of error message -- if I interrupt the downloader with ctrl-c I get this
traceback:

from Oneiric. My upgrade hung when attempting to configure ttf-
mscorefonts-installer. I seem to have completed the upgrade
successfully by aborting, removing ttf-mscorefonts-installer and
