I hope the user is told what the valid ones are, eg. by drop-down box as
suggested above.
Is the user going to be expected to know the weird grub naming
convention, which seems to be used nowhere else in the installer, or is
the installer going to show the same drive/partition names as are used

Agree strongly with TerryG above.
When installing GRUB to a partition some people NEED all the OS's
available. The change should be to ask the user whether they want this
grub to include all other OS's in its menu. Suggest default to "all the
OS's", because ignoring unwanted entries in a menu is a

I also hit this bug with Gutsy, I wonder what year it will be fixed.
I fixed using slightly different link:-
ln -s ../../phppgadmin/apache.conf /etc/apache2/conf.d/phppgadmin.conf
because this seemed to match the link used by phpmyadmin.
Suggest fix install script for phppgadmin to match phpmya
Tried:

I think I should probably change this sometime from US to UK, but I
don't think that's the problem.

Had same problem with Ubuntu Dapper.

The above fix helps (I used $_layout = "uk"), but I think dosemu should
