John, have you tried disabling the exchange plugin from the main menu
of Evolution. I found this was the problem on my install.
Cheers,

An excellent solution, all working well here. Am wondering also, if
anyone has WPA enterprise working with this method? I can't seem to
authenticate with my system, however I WEP is fine.

Am not sure if I have the exact same probelem, however I have lost all

LDAP was causing me heaps of problems, but the Bug is not specific to
Ubuntu. It appears that a plugin in Evolution (installed by default) is
at fault. It is highly likely that your LDAP settings are fine, you just
need to disable the Exchange Operations plugin. To do this, click Edit,

No you're right, it isn't the same problem at all. Instead I have two
bands running down the screen, one at centre and one at the right. So
yes, the driver has changed something, and not for the better. I will
file a new report. I will downgrade the package in the meantime.

Oh crap! Here we go again. Is this dejevu or what? I have just refused
to install the update just in case. Has anyone else installed the update
successfully? This is not what I was expecting after all this time. I
will give it a go if people who were affected by the problem last time
can assure me
I can confirm a similar scenario with Gutsy. Clicking the shutdown just
hangs the system with the desktop image. Virtual consoles cannot be
opened and a hard reset is required.

When adding a LPD network printer in Gutsy there is no request for the
print queue. Whilst this is easily fixed for someone in the know,by
tacking it onto the end of the printer IP, it should be specified in the
setup wizard.

I second this. Alernate install of Gutsy tribe 5 ignores previous
windows installation and does not configure the menu for this.

I have just tried the Gutsy live CD and there are no signs of artifacts

Hi,
Yes I can confirm that with my machine that there are no longer
artifacts as of Feisty. However my machine is no longer a standard
install. I am using the radeon driver, and several switches. I can
provide a copy of my xorg.conf if you like. I also want to point out
that initially the artifact

Thanks for the advice Michael. I will give this a go. The issue is, I
HAVE TO use 16bit. If I could use 24, then I'd be much happier. I only
wish I knew more about this APGart memory thingy, because I am positive
that this is where everything is going wrong.

I have managed to get my system stable now running Edgy. I have modified
my xorg.conf with the attached settings, and have been playing with the
recommended defaults as you can see. I am so close to getting this
completely sorted that I'm getting excited!
