I don't really know what repercussions in the system the fix I posted above might have. Unfortunately this bug is still set to new, don't know if the devs care about fixing it or if it is their responsibility. Maybe the bug is coming from a piece of code Ubuntu didn't write itself. ** Also affects

what i did to solve the problem is the following. This has been found on the debian link in the second post, now my Ethernet is always eth0 1. edit /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules 2. remove all the existing entries and add a new one, something like SUBSYSTEM=="net", DRIVERS=="forcedet

I have encountered this bug on dapper, edgy and now also on feisty herd 5. My hardware is an Nvidia GeForceFX 5700 with a CMV CT-722D monitor. My tft is capable of 1280x1024 but ubuntu only sets it to 1024x768. Running sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg and choosing the correct resolutions
