This bug affects me also... Two times a day I need to get to the tty1
and manually kill X Server because it hangs (or Compiz crashes and I
lose window decorating. It seems that it occurs when I start a lot of
intensive apps (like Firefox with ~12 tabs, Thunderbird and Gimp).
I am using Dell N5040
Inkscape wasn't starting. From the console: "inkscape: error while
loading shared libraries: libgtkmm-2.4.so.1: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory".
Execuiting of "apt-get install --reinstall libgtkmm-2.4-1c2a" fixes this
error.
Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit. Clean install.
