Judging by the video it looks to me like you're seeing two different
framebuffers from the recent past. The reason nothing more recent is
replacing them and you see flicker is because the compositor thinks
Chrome has already opened over the top of the flickering window. So it
never gets updated.

With DRM drivers, Plymouth going black means it is changing from the
SimpleDRM driver (BIOS graphics) to the accelerated driver (which can

There's your problem; the detected screen size is "1mm x 1mm". So Mutter
just chooses the maximum scaling factor to compensate.
That's clearly a software bug in the Xorg driver because decoding your
EDID from the monitor I can see the monitor is reporting itself as 120
cm x 34 cm.

At least I believed this was true. After `apt install btop` again, the
GPU sections are now there. I guess it now works because I manually
`sudo apt install librocm-smi-dev` and the libraries happened to be

Upgrading to 24.04 made chrome become usafe to use- no updates comming.
Upgrade removed apps. Needed to reinstall them. Chrome still not
updating- additionally has source file tampered, not to upgrade.
1. In 2024 august 30 was safe to upgrade to 24.04

btop has recently (v1.3.0) added support to display GPU information -
currently AMD and Intel with 1.4 - but this isn't available in the
version from apt. I believe this is because the new library isn't a
dependency of package, so btop builds without AMD GPU support.

Hi,
/var/spool/nncp is owned by owner and group nncp.
But how should a user other than root be able to write into that
directory or run nncp commands being able to read /etc/nncp.hjson, if
that is supposed to remain secret?
Shouldn't those commands be set setuid nncp?
E.g.
