Just seen this problem on Xubuntu-Noble fully updated but running in KVM/QEMU.
The xfce4-panel apparently restarts and I see no obvious problem after the
desktop appears.

Right, that was with curl and wget from Ubuntu archive. I got some
documentation finally, to set up the corporate client and the ssl
connection works basically.

I haven't seen _these particular_ black flashes in a while, but I do
still experience graphics glitches and crashes. Most notably
https://store.kde.org/p/1308861/ seems to have consistent graphics
glitches that have brought down KDE multiple times.

When mouting archive that contains filenames with non-ASCII character (I
suppose), they are not shown.
Reproducing is easy:
touch æ.txt
touch a.txt
zip test.zip -xi a.txt æ.txt
mkdir test
archivemount test.zip test
xdg-open test
Result: only a.txt is sho

Same problem on Mate and Xubuntu Noble.
Can not use synaptic in the usual manner to make changes to repositories so
this needs fixing asap.
